2011 and 2012 Super Duty performance upgrades for under $2000

Stage 3 Off-Road

The 2011 and 2012 Super Dutys are some the most brutally powerful trucks that Ford has ever produced. The 400 horsepower and 800ft/lbs of torque available in the 6.7L V8 of the F-250s and F-350s is enough to meet the towing and running about needs of the average driver. You, however, are not average, and neither are we here at Stage 3 Off-Road. We are constantly looking for ways to give our trucks even more power and torque, though its questionable if our needs will ever be fulfilled. Still, Stage 3 has several cost-effective performance upgrades that greatly enhance your truck's power potential for for gains of up to 150 horsepower for a relatively low cost of $2000. All Stage 3 Off-Road's Super Duty parts are of the highest quality and are specifically designed to give you the power and torque you need for any application.
Stage 3's most popular performance items for our 2011 and 2012 Super Duty customers are cold air intakes. While we carry cold air intakes (CAIs) from several different brands that all vary in design, their basic operational principles are the same. Each CAI brings in larger amounts of cooler charge air than Ford's inefficient air boxes, and help the rich-running engine to hit a better air/fuel ratio. The cooler air expands more violently inside the engine and gives your F-250 or F-350 up to 10 to 15 horsepower gains. Our CAIs use a combination of high-capacity air filters, insulated inlet tubing and specialized heat shielding to give the engine its much-needed horsepower. Most of our CAIs are extremely easy to install and can simply be dropped in as replacements for the factory intake system in under an hour. Stage 3's CAIs come with either reusable filters that can be cleaned and re-oiled or fully disposable paper filters. Our average CAI will only set you back roughly $350, which is not too shabby considering the power gains

Updating your 2011 to 2012 Super Duty's exhaust system is an excellent way to increase horsepower and torque, and add an awesome monster-truck roar onto your Powerstroke. Our most basic filter-back exhausts, like this MBRP stainless steel system, replace your restrictive, crimped factory exhaust tubing and chambered muffler with mandrel-bent tubing and a straight-through muffler design that reduces some of the back pressure within your F-250 or 350's exhaust system. The lower back pressure is good for minor horsepower, torque and fuel mileage gains, but are really only meant for their booming sounds. Filter-back exhausts run from the truck's Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) all the way to the exhaust tips that are usually quite a bit larger than their factory counterparts to help produce their unique sounds. All of our filter-back systems are completely street-legal, though your local HOA may not appreciate your Super Duty's dinosaur-like roar. Each 2011 and 2012 Powerstroke filter-back exhaust is fairly easy to install and is a direct replacement for the factory exhaust system from the DPF and rearward.

The absolute best bang for your buck when it comes to power and performance upgrades is an H&S Performance Tuner. Each tuner comes pre-loaded with performance computer calibrations that can add up to 120 horsepower onto your Super Duty's engine. 2011 and 2012 F-250s and F-350s require the additional purchase of an H&S Unlock code that allows you to access your truck's computer and upload one of three preset performance tunes that give 40, 80 or 120 horsepower depending on your individual need. In essence, under $750 gets you tons of horsepower gains that only involves plugging the tuner of your choice into your truck and following the on-screen instructions. If your truck is on the fast track to serious modifications (aftermarket turbos, massive engine modifications, etc), then you may need custom tuning done at your local dyno shop in order to prevent engine damage and get the most power out of your performance modifications.

Stage 3 Off-Road customers that are turning their trucks into pure off-road performance trucks, can look into any of our race exhaust systems that give you huge horsepower and torque gains by replacing your whole exhaust system from the turbo back with smooth, mandrel-bent tubing. These replacement exhaust systems fully eliminate back pressure, and when combined with a required H&S Tune can deliver up to 150 extra horsepower to your engine. These exhaust systems require the removal of the DPF, because of which, they are classified as being for off-road use only, along with any other exhaust system that removes or alters the DPF and/or catalytic converters. The tunes for DPF deletes shut down the EGR system of your Powerstroke and are required for any type of racing/DPF delete exhaust system. Real performance trucks that want to compete at the drag strip, pulls or other events are the real benefactors of race pipes and their corresponding tuning.

Now you have a Ford Powerstroke with up to 550 horsepower and more torque than many planes can manage. Your 2011 or 2012 Super Duty should feel like a whole new truck, and instead of having to invest in a supercharger or complete engine swap like your truck's gasoline-guzzling cousins, you got huge horsepower gains with a few simple bolt-on parts and tuning that took less than five minutes and cost thousands less than what lesser vehicle owners may have had to do for their power upgrades. After providing your truck with upgunned performance, check out our wide selection of lights, lift kits, billet grilles and other exterior upgrades that make your 2011 or 2012 Super Duty look as great as it performs.
