Easy performance upgrades for 2008 to 2010 Super Dutys.

Stage 3 Off-Road

The introduction of the 6.4L Power Stroke diesel in 2008 marked a new beginning for Ford's Super Duty trucks. The new sequential twin-turbo engine ramped up the horsepower to 350hp with 650ft/lbs of torque right off the production line. While these trucks' power figures are extremely impressive, a few straightforward upgrades can add up to 150 more horsepower and substantially increase torque with almost no hassles. Stage 3 Off-Road offers up some of the best bolt-on Super Duty performance parts on the market to help you make huge power when you need it most. Best of all, our most popular performance enhancements will, in total, cost you less than $2000, giving the extra oomph necessary to keep up with the meanest trucks of later model years at a fraction of the cost of a brand new truck.
Stage 3's most popular and easiest to install upgrade for the second generation Super Duty trucks is a cold air intake. The 6.4L Power Stroke runs slightly rich from the factory, meaning that it injects more fuel than can adequately be burned. Cold air intakes (CAIs) increase airflow to the engine to create a more efficient air/fuel ratio for excellent power gains. Most CAI systems use a combination of high-capacity filters, insulated inlet tubing and some sort of heat shielding to make the incoming air cooler that allows for increased air density which increases horsepower and torque to an even greater extent. Nearly all of Stage 3's CAIs add up to 10 to 15 horsepower and can boost fuel economy by one or two miles per gallon depending on the specifics of the design. All of Stage 3 Off-Road's cold air intakes are extremely easy to install and are direct replacements for the factory airbox. Installation can usually be completed in under an hour using common hand tools.

The factory exhaust on your 2008 to 2010 F-250 or F-350 is extremely restrictive, clogging your truck's motor with back pressure and robbing you of easily obtained horsepower and torque. Stage 3 Off-Road has a huge selection of Super Duty exhaust components designed specifically to leave the factory far behind. Our most popular exhaust upgrades are filter-back kits that replace all of the exhaust parts rearward of the Super Duty's Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF). Instead of using crimped tubing with hard angles and restrictive chambered mufflers like the stock exhaust, aftermarket filter-backs use mandrel-bent tubing with soft curves and either straight-through mufflers or muffler deletes to greatly reduce back pressure. In general, our filter-back exhausts can give your 6.4L Power Stroke 15 horsepower with an additional 20ft/lbs of torque. The majority of filter-backs available here at Stage 3 can be installed using the factory hardware and mounting points, making installation fairly painless. We have single-exit, dual-exit, side exit and even stacks available in our huge inventory with stainless steel or aluminized construction.

The ultimate stop for massive power and torque gains for 2008 to 2010 Ford Super Duty trucks is an H&S Tuner. Each of the three H&S Tuners offered here at Stage 3 Off-Road come preloaded with several high-performance computer modifications for your Power Stroke that add huge amounts of horsepower and torque by adjusting the settings of your truck's engine computer. H&S provides a 40, 80 or 120 horsepower tune for trucks currently outfitted with a DPF. Customized tunes that reach up to 300 horsepower can be downloaded from H&S's website. These custom tunes can then be uploaded to your choice of tuner using a supplied USB cord. All of the H&S tuners available at Stage 3 Off-Road hook directly into your truck's OBD-II port and can upload your chosen tune to the Super Duty's PCM in only a few minutes by following the on-screen instructions. Heavily-modified trucks with aftermarket turbos, overhauled engines or other serious upgrades may need to custom tuning at a local dyno shop to avoid engine damage and get full performance.

F-250s and 350s that are being fully tracked out for sanctioned racing or pulling events can get an edge on their competition with the use of racing exhaust systems. These exhaust kits can only be used in official racing events by recognized racing organizations, but can give your Super Duty massive horsepower gains when coupled with the proper tuning. Race exhausts and an H&S tune can give you 80, 160 or 250 extra horsepower depending on the choice of tune and potential application. H&S also supplies powerful, 300 horsepower custom tunes that have allowed some of their trucks to reach 580 horsepower with 1100ft/lbs of torque. Because of Federally mandated emissions requirements, these exhausts and tunes can only be used for sanctioned racing events.

Unlike their gasoline-powered brethren, the 6.4L Power Stroke can gain huge power outputs with a trite few modifications. Similar power levels for gasoline engines can only be achieved with substantial engine upgrades that cost thousands of dollars and may not even reach the heights of Ford's big diesel. Even Stage 3's most mild upgrades give diesel owners a huge bump in horsepower and torque that can easily bring the stock 350hp up to nearly 500hp with ease and only using bolt-on parts and simple tuning. These modifications give the older 6.4L Power Stroke an edge and make you feel like you're driving a whole new machine. To make your truck even more unique, take a look at our billet grilles, lights and other exterior upgrades.
